We appreciate hearing from so many of you and of visiting with many of you at the reunion.

We had a delightful reunion.   We had about 50 folks.

• We spent time socially.
• We shared memories of the mission field and felt the spirit of that service.
• We received some updates of the mission … the incredible service from the Saints with the floods in Quebec
• We talked about the challenges facing maturing young adults in

o   Marriage (or dating)

o   Children

o   Professional (school/work)

o   Self

o   Church/spirituality

• We shared how the mission supported our lives today.

We missed many of you and hope to be able to contact all of you in the future.  We especially missed some of the singles … we are a mixed group and hope that all feel comfortable.

We are likely to find someone who can create a more connected website, facebook, linkedin, etc. for all the missionaries who have served.

May we share our love for each of you.  We hope we can continue to be available to each of you as you would like to share good news or bad, to talk about choices, and to simple feel the spirit that so enriches our lives.

We trust and hope you are all doing well.  We like so much to hear from you about the good (and hard) news of your lives.  We have missionaries graduating, getting married, having kids, getting jobs, buying houses, serving others, and all the things associated with this life stage.  We also have missionaries struggling with work/school, marriage/dating, kids (physical and emotional tragedies), faith/service, and other life realities  at this life stage.  We appreciate hearing from you about both parts of your life.  We believe that honest conversations helps us celebrate successes and learn from  failures.

And a rousing “YES” to Elder Snell (he and his wife served in the office in 2004/2005).  You can see from the attached that he was named the Utah poet of the year. This is  remarkable honor.     You can see the story below and read some of his attached poems.  Well done to him!

Reunion!

We hope you all enjoyed conference.  What a delight to hear words of wisdom and inspiration.  We had some family experiences where did the experiment of praying for an answer to a specific question and in one of the talks a very direct and pointed answer was given.  A tender mercy from General  Conference.

We have heard from many of you and we share those comments with others.  As we hear from others, we will share them as well.

Each time we hear from you our hearts are touched as our minds remember the sweet (cold and difficult too) experiences in Quebec.   What a remarkable blessing to have served with such valiant and faithful folks.   We continue to pray for and worry about you all.   If you are able, we like to visit with you in Alpine where we live.

Wendy continues to writer her columns in the Deseret News (search her name on the web site) and Dave continues to plod forward in his work on leadership, talent, and HR.  We are delighted with our family and opportunities for formal and informal service in the kingdom.

We really like updates from you, so please send them along.

We are doing well.

We have a 2^nd granddaughter, Norah, who with Maren (1^st grand daughter) blesses our lives.

Wendy spends time doing her workshops (www.sixteenstones.com) .  She is also a columnist for Deseret News … some in Mormon Times and some with the newspaper.  She generally does 2 to 4 talks in addition.   She continues to serve in RS.

I am doing same old travel and consulting … travel is a hassle, consulting is fun.   I teach 16 year olds in SS and teachers in priesthood which I enjoy.   I visited Montreal last week on some work for a day.  It was an unusual feeling walking around the city without the mantle of missionary work.  I had such fond memories of the service we rendered.  Sunday, we stood and sang “called to serve” and I could feel again the blessing of serving with so many wonderful missionaries.

As we age, we find that relationships matter so much.  Please stay in touch with us.  Some have good news to share; some have tough news to share.  Both are important.   We find that lives are often difficult, but still a blessing to be connected to those who care.
